Character I REALLY Don’t Want To See On True Blood (via @EricNorthmanSVM)

True Blood 30-Night Fangathon - Day 18Character I REALLY Don’t Want To See On True Blood Sorry Quinn fans but I’m not part of your legion. The genie pants, the dry humping in the kitchen, calling Sookie ‘Babe’ all the time.“Are you ready, babe? You sound ready. You feel ready.”Ugh! Amateur!I will say something good about Quinn. Sookie and Quinn’s escape into the swamp is pretty cool and they did make a good team in that instant. That said, I didn’t mind at all when Eric broke Quinn’s jaw in Dead and Gone.

Which SVM Characters would I like to see on True Blood? (via @CindyLouLouBear)

Well, Who DO I want to see?
I know I Don’t like Scott Foley on TB.. I’m sure I’ll always see him as his character on Felicity (I know, showing my age here) But, I just don’t see how he’s going to benefit the show.
1. Quinn. Naturally, as my RP Character suggests, I am a fan of the Big, Broody Tiger with a Past. He’s such a great character & I just think the only man for the job is Vin Diesel. He’s who Charlaine had in mind when she wrote him, so it just fits.
2. JB DuRone. If Jason’s a stud, JB’s right there with him. None too swift in the smarts department, but fantastic eye candy, JB is just a good ol’ fashioned redneck party boy. If Sookie gets sick of or mad at any of the various suitors at her door, JB is more than willing to take their place.
3. Clovach (sp?) . The Britligen warrior is just an interesting person. The interactions she has & her quirks would just be fun to see in Alan Balls world.
4. Claude. Properly done. In the books, Claude is on the cover of Romance Novels. He’s STUNNING. He’s gay & proud. He doesn’t suffer fools. Seeing the weak effort that Alan Ball & company considered to be their Claude, I was deeply dissapointed. He’d even give LaLa a run for his money in the title of head diva in Bon Temps
5. Andre ~ It’s a mute point now With Sophie Anne gone, but it would have been fun to see the two centuries old Vampire Companions have a bicker over how V was distributed in the kingdom of Louisiana.
At Any rate, New Characters or not, I can’t wait for June 10th. Waiting does Suck.

Waiting Sucks, But it’s So Worth it! (via @LuvBONESnTBlood)

Waiting does suck!I’ve been hearing through other sites and dedicated fans that they might use Alcide this season as a replacement for John Quinn.  I’m sorry no way! I’d rather wait another whole season without his storyline than to do that!

Don’t get me wrong I like Alcide and even as another guy trying to get into Sookie’s pants but not as a permenant fixture (that belongs to the Viking) and definitely not to over shadow or replace Quinn. They both were and are important to her storyline and they both need their own time in the show!

Alcide

Alcide played by Joe Manganiello

 on HBO True Blood

Alcide is a full blooded Werewolf whose father owns a construction/surveying company. Very Alpha and should be Packmaster but does not want the recognition. At 6ft 5 he is huge. Gorgeous eyes of green/gold, messy black hair, rough, chisled physique and full of magnetism.

Sookie first meets Alcide when Bill goes missing (book: Lorena summons him TV: Russell has him kidnapped and brought to Mississippi)  Sookie and Alcide never really get a romantic relationship into full swing eventhough he tries many times and due to Alcide’s crazy relationship with his ex-fiance Debbie Pelt. (which Sookie kills). He does not like her association with Vamps but still helps her when she needs it. He will always be there for her. They are close friends.

Quinn

John Quinn is a full blooded weretiger, is just over 6 and 1/2 feet tall, very muscular, bald, scarred and his deep violet (compared to pansies). His whole being is commanding and his presence oozes charisma and confidence.

Quinn’s eyes are like purple pansies!

He is a supernatural coordinator for Extreme(ly Elegant) Events company, his job is to arrange and emcee all types of supernatural community events, such as a packmaster contest or a vampire wedding. He becomes Sookie’s romantic partner for a time. His past is a bit hard and sad in order to get out of it he saught help from vampires who made him compete in gladiator type fights for three years. Though Sookie breaks up with him in the book in the eighth book he never stops trying to rekindle with Sookie.

John Quinn has yet to make an appearance on True Blood yet. There have been many suggestions as who could play Quinn even Ms. Harris likes Vin Diesel. Which I soooo agree with! I also like Liev Schreiber and Jason Statham myself to play him…

Day 7 #Deadlocked – My review. (via @SassyJessOB)

Deadlocked….

When I last wrote about this book I was half way through, having finished it last night quite happily I was in complete shock with the turn of events.
Many things are revealed in this book however most people seem to just want to know who Sookie is going to end up with and live happily ever after with in the next book.
This book sets the second foundation since Dead Reckoning the previous book and the way it was written gave me a lot of second thoughts.

My first thought is… Who is Sookie going to end up with in the next book? Now I have my theories.

1) it could be Sam. They could both finally realise together that as we all know is that Sam loves Sookie in one way and there the best of friends with what happens at the end of deadlocked I feel like there could be sparking some serious feelings after Sookie saves him.

2) It could be Quinn. Now Sookie has an up and down relationship with Quinn in the last few books, however they both never quite got to progress there relationship any further as Eric came into Sookie’s life and Quinn went and fell in love with someone else. But when Quinn called Sookie to say happy birthday and share his news with her, I felt sorry for him but I also knew that this is an opening, Charlaine Harris has put this back in to maybe make Sookie think she can maybe help Quinn and maybe fall in love with him again but this is just a theory.

3) However after also reading Deadlocked I’m afraid to say that I think Eric and Sookie’s relationship is going to fall apart as Sookie didn’t use cluviel dor for his situation, however I also think that maybe since the bond has been broken between Eric and Sookie that Sookie can no longer give an excuse for her feelings, she clearly and deeply loves Eric but if Charlaine is going to give Sookie everything she wants in the next book then maybe Eric is going to be able to give her children or something too. But to me that sounds silly and I feel stupid even writing about it.

There was a lot of pregnancies and engagements and so on in this book, maybe Charlaine was just pointing out to Sookie what she’s missing.
Either way I hope Sookie ends up with the right person.

I’m also glad to say that I’m really relieved that the Fairys have gone back now to there own world and won’t be in the next book at all. I was sad to see the departure of Dermot as he’s been nothing but a sweetheart to Sookie but we can officially rule out that she won’t end up with a Fairy.

The book has given me a lot of guessing to and from and it’s got a lot of problems going on but I’m happy to say that I’ve enjoyed reading it throughout. I will be sad to see how the series ends next year but I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

So get reading if you’ve been reading the other books!

Dead as a Doornail isn’t Dead in the Water (via @lynntulloch)

‘Dead as a Doornail’ is the fifth book in Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire Series and it’s quite an exciting book too. The book concentrates on Sookie wanting a bit more of a quiet life. After all, so far, Sookie has had a friend murder her grandmother, fallen in love and been betrayed, been raped, slept with two vampires, been blown up, discovered that not only are vampires real, but werewolves, shapeshifters and witches too, had her brother attacked by werepanthers (its only at the beginning of this book that we find out he will shift at a new moon unlike the TV series).

I suppose after all that, I’d want a quieter life too.
However, this is so not on the cards for our Sookie, no she has more hassle and crap to put up with. Makes you wonder why she does it eh?
‘Dead as a Doornail’ begins with were-animals in the area being shot at. Obviously, this includes Sookie cause she hangs about with a lot of them.
There is a pack master challenge in Shreveport and the very wonderful Alcide asks Sookie for help. He needs her there to listen to people’s thoughts and make sure no one will cheat, cause Jackson Herveaux is Alcide’s dad and he’s in the running.
Sookie gets kind of blackmailed into doing it cause he’s worked out that there is a strong possibility that Sookie has something to do with Debbie Pelt’s disappearing. Nice work there Alcide, gone from good guy to instant scum. However, the master of ceremonies is a were tiger called Quinn….. Hmmmm.
Sam, on the other hand has had a sly snog with Sookie, who is now convinced that vampires are bad news and are just into using her, which is quite ironic considering that as Sam has been shot he asks her to get Eric to give him a relief member of bar staff…..

Great, used by Sam, used by Alcide.

After being Franklin Mott’s bit of fluff in book 3, Tara has been passed off by him to another vamp called Mickey who is not really emotionally stable. She needs help to get away from him.
So, yes, you’ve guessed it, Sookie to the rescue again, she bargains with Eric for his help. In return, Eric asks to be told what happened when he lost his memory in book 4. Sookie does this, in what is probably one of the best bits of the book, next to Eric laughing at ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ on television.
We all know that True Blood is loosely based on the SVM, so today Day 3 I’ll give you a quick run down on book 5, then tomorrow, what story lines I think will be used and how some of the other characters may develop in Season 5.

Charlaine Harris characters I’d Like to See on True Blood (via @mswriteok)

Since it’s Day 5 in this great Fangathon, it’s been suggested we make a Top Five list of some kind.
So, I thought about it most of the day and have picked five characters from the SVM books who would fit in well in the True Blood universe.
No. 1: JB du Rhone.
JB  is probably the only person in Bon Temps as dim as Jason Stackhouse. Believe it or not, JB is better looking than Jason. Yes, there is enough eye candy on this show already, but really, can there ever be too much? JB has several jobs. He has worked in a gym, at a home improvement warehouse and as a male stripper. He helped Sookie with physical therapy after one particularly nasty session with bad fairies and is one of the few humans she can stand to be around because his thoughts are restful and he is is a nice guy. In the book, JB and Tara get married and have twins. I don’t think Tara is going to care one way or another about humanity much longer, so he’d be a free agent in the series. I can see Chris Evans playing this part.
No. 2: Bubba
If you read my Day 4 post, it’s about Bubba, whom I love. I know it would be hard to get all the permissions you would need, and there would be rules about what he could and could not do on the show, but damn kids, having Elvis Presley sneaking in and out of Bon Temps would be so cool. I think even Russell Edgington would allow Bubba to do anything he liked, because sometimes, when he’s happy or it’s Christmas, you might hear him sing. “Blue Christmas” anyone? Chris Isaac has the voice and there are fat suits for a reason.
No. 3: Quinn
While there are no shortage of big beefy men in both the SVM and “True Blood,” I think John Quinn would be a welcome addition. First, he is a very endangered species, a weretiger. Only Sam can match him in the shifter world, simply because Sam could turn into a tiger if he felt like it. However, Quinn has the advantage of being a veteran of the supernatural fight world pit matches. The fact he survived makes him a real bad-ass. Also, his looks are amazing. He’s described as tall, extremely handsome with “pansy colored eyes.” Sounds good to me. In the books, he and Sookie date a few times and then break it off, but the blonde waitress has enough men wanting her attention. He’d simply be more eye candy to me, but a weretiger in town might make those werepanthers in Hot Shot behave. There have been discussions on True Blood websites about who would be the best Quinn, but because I love his gravelly voice, I’d go with Vin Diesel. Personally, I’d love to see him and Alcide play some shirtless football. Yum.
No. 4: Desmond Cataliades
A lawyer from New Orleans, Mr. Cataliades also is a demon. We haven’t had a demon on True Blood yet, at least not one we’ve known about. He’s a beefy guy, with two nieces who serve as messengers between him and Sookie when needed. She’s helped him too, saving his life, and he has been helpful in filling in some of her numerous questions about her past and explains Gran’s final gift to her. I think William Shatner would be perfect as the demon, but if you want someone more menacing, try Vincent D’Onofrio.
No. 5: Amelia Broadway
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we’ve had our fill of bad witches in Season 4, but Amelia is a witch who uses her powers for good. She and Sookie meet in New Orleans when Sookie comes down to claim her cousin Hadley’s estate. Amelia is able to recreate what happened in the apartment, helping everyone find out who killed her cousin (You remember Hadley, her son Hunter is telepathic too). After a spell-soaked sexy session with her boyfriend Bob turns him into a cat, Amelia needs to lay low for while, so she and Bob come stay with Sookie until the heat dies down and she can find a way to reverse Bob’s spell. Sookie needs a mostly-normal friend, it would be relaxing for a change. Her talents would come in handy to recreate crime scenes involving supernatural beings, and her magic wards on Sookie’s house would keep her (mostly) safe from harm. Also, it would be fun to see some good magic, especially one that would bring Bob back to his human form. Talking about Bob though, would mean six characters, and that’s not the assignment is it? I’ll let you readers cast this one yourself.

Day 5 #Fangathon2012 – My favourite book. (via @SassyJessOB)

For #Fangathon day 5……

This subject has actually been difficult for me to decide as its taken me a while to adjust who is my favourite character as well in this book but I cannot choose….

I’m a big fan of the books as well as True Blood as I have stated in my previous blog entries and I have a terrible time of repeating myself too (haha!) but if I had to pick out any book mostly for the Southern Vampire Mysteries it would be Definitely Dead – book number 6!

What’s it about? Well I shall tell you…..

As a person with so few living relatives, Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse really hated to lose one. But she never guessed that it would be her cousin Hadley—a consort of the Vampire Queen Sophie-Anne of New Orleans. After all, technically speaking, Hadley was already dead. And now, as unexpected heir to Hadley’s estate, Sookie discovers the inheritance definitely comes with a risk.
Someone doesn’t want Sookie looking too deeply into Hadley’s past—or for that matter, Hadley’s possessions. And they’re prepared to do anything in their power to stop her. But who? The range of suspects runs from the Rogue Weres who reject Sookie as a friend of the Pack to the Vampire Queen herself, who could be working through a particularly vulnerable subject—Sookie’s first love, Bill.

This book was so intense and I love a good intense book. We get to see the development of Queen Sophie-Anne and her vulnerable teenage side but we also discover more about Sookie’s family and I love the whole relationship Sookie forms with Quinn, it gave me the chills when I read this book and I’m most definitely wish the rest of the books were like this.

My favourite part about the book is that it’s set away from Bon Temps, the scenes are beautifully described about New Orleans and other places where the vampires are based.

I love all the characters in this book and the plots.

I won’t ruin it for people who haven’t read it yet….

So that would be my favourite book.

Having a Vampire for a Best Friend… (via @CindyLouLouBear)

So, having a vampire for a best friend can be ok, right? I mean my friend Hoyt is with… was with Jessica and they seemed fine. And Jason was friends with Jessica, too. Okay, maybe another bad example; But Sookie gets along real well with Jess. She is a sweetheart!
The friend that I have may make people do a double take. Not just because of what he is, but because of WHO he is.

See, my best friend (besides my sister Riah Lynn Washington) is… well. I’ll get to it, just give me a minute, ok?
He’s older. That’s an understatement. He’s WAY older than me; or even, if she were alive, my great grandmother ( God rest her sweet soul.) Even the fact that he is a HE often turns peoples heads, too. I mean what nice part were girl like me would be friends with HIM?
I’ll tell you what girl. THIS GIRL. See, they don’t know Eric.., shit.. I was gonna make y’all wait for that! But, I’m no Alan Ball now am I?

*grins*

Anyway, Eric, yes, THAT Eric is my best friend. His wife Sookie and I get along really well too. They are so in love with each other and it’s such a beautiful thing to see. *beams*

Eric means the world to me. I be lost right now if not for him. I’m gonna tell Y’all some things about the mysterious man in sky blue, ruling over guests at Fangtasia that you would never know. You might not even be able to believe they’re true. Believe Me, They are.
I call Eric my “Pooh Bear.” Why? Because he gives the BEST hugs on the planet. (Sorry Baby! It’s a different kind of hug when I hug you, Quinn! *wink* ) As I said, Eric gives the best hugs.Since he’s so much taller, I end of hugging a little above his stomach. The perk of that is though, he leans down and smells my hair and kisses the top of my head.

We are purely platonic, but I Love Eric Northman. And he loves me. Whenever we hug, it’s like the world fades away. No, he doesn’t glamour me or anything. I genuinely want him to hug me. Remember when Sookie told him “There’s Good in you.” Well, there is. Quite a bit.

Eric walked me down the aisle and gave me away to my late husband, John. When John was killed, he hugged me and held me until I could hold myself together again. He literally helped piece me back together after John”s death. I probably would have left Louisiana if not for Eric, and I sure hope he knows I’m not going anywhere.

He calls me his “Pink Lady.” There are a few reasons for this. Pink is one of my favorite colors and my sorority rose; but when I married John, my bridesmaids dresses were various shades of pink. The groomsmen’s ties were pink. The roses were pink and white. So, am I a “Pink Lady?” *giggles* I sure am.

But the biggest reason the illustrious Mr.Northman calls me “Pink Lady” is because he couldn’t bear to call me Piglet. See, if you don’t know, Pooh Bear and Piglet are best friends, they walk side by side. “It’s so much friendlier with two,” is one of their mottos. Kinda sums up me and Eric. But he couldn’t call me Piglet. He chose “Pink Lady” instead, and it’s been my special name from him ever since.
We don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like to anymore, what with him on business a lot and my working for Pam Ravenscroft. Eric and Sookie have an amazing life together, I can only hope that Quinn and I are so lucky.

I would never give up my friendship with Eric Northman. He has done and means So Very Much to me, that there would be a whole in my heart if he was gone. FOTS and all their affiliates be damned, yes a “fanger” can be friends with a “furbanger”. And they can love each other like family, too. Take that TMZ.

Today was a good day.. (via @CindyLouLouBear)

I had a good day today, some might say great. I woke at @Quinn_SVM (my boyfriend) ‘s house. I’ve been staying with John lately at his house in Shreveport. It’s really nice & really big; but then again it has to be to accommodate Quinn. John..Quinn, (most everyone calls him Quinn, his Full name is John Quinn. I call him Quinn too, But when we’re alone, just he & I, I like to call him John. It just seems more personal to me.) Anyway, Quinn is a very large man. I’ve never taken a ruler to him or anything, but I’d say he’s about 6’8”. I’m 5’3” *giggles* so it makes it a little interesting seeing us together. I always have to stand on tip~toe to kiss him, but I think It’s kind of nice having someone that big around. I grew up that way after all. See I’m the runt of the litter, literally. I have three..I mean two biological brothers. Forgetting my brother James is dead sometimes is hard. It still seems like he’s here. I’m the Baby of four & our Momma died just after I turned six. It was hard on all of us, but my Dad especially. He’s the biggest of us all. It’d say Daddy was 6’5, maybe 300 lbs. He was a giant to me, always. Rusty, the oldest, grew up to be built just like Momma’s side, tall & skinny. Seeing pictures of them together was like looking at the number ten! Then again, that’s what it was like with Momma & Daddy, too. If I ever found a picture of Momma & Daddy together, I would always think “how did THEY get together?” They were the strangest pair on paper, but when they were together, they loved each other like nothing else. It was a love of attraction, but also of respect. They respected each other & what the other did. Neither of them knowing anything about the other’s field of interest at first, they learned because they loved each other. Momma was a werewolf, but I never knew. In fact, so was my grandmother, who I loved dearly. She helped raise me after Momma died. I never knew, though. She sure was good at keeping it a secret! I always thought she was off on a Bingo weekend with her girlfriends. Well, she was, they all just happened to shift into werewolves at night and run as a pack. What was I saying? Oh yeah, My Momma & Daddy remind me a lot of Quinn & I. Not to say that Quinn & I’ll be married or anything, But we do love each other very much. The best part about today though (Well, that’s between Quinn & I) But, the big thing about today was that John asked me to go with him when he shifts tomorrow night. To be there when someone shifts is an honor for me, especially if it’s my boyfriend. John’s eyes get the most amazing shade of purple I’ve ever seen, if I’ve ever seen it at all before. It’s that beautiful. So, we’ll probably go to the woods behind his house & John will shift & OH YEAH! He said I could ride on his back! *giggles* I’ve had dreams about snuggling in his fur when he’s a tiger, but now, I really get to do it! I’m so excited! I’ll let you know how it goes. But for now, I’m back to my Big Man, My Cuddly Beast, & watching a movie in his arms. Goodnight Louisiana!

via Today was a good day..

Ode to Godric (via @JBDuRoneTB)

The debate among TB/SVM fans over Godric seems to be as hot a topic as Eric vs. Bill. Or Book Sookie/Show Sookie. Or Quinn. Or Tara. But I have to give this one to Alan Ball; I love what he did with Godric. To me, the most stirring scene during the entire True Blood series continues to be Godric and Sookie on the rooftop in Dallas. That scene was beautifully written, stirringly directed and stunningly filmed. That storyline also revealed Eric’s love and devotion for his Maker, which places me firmly in the Viking camp. (There you are; two big reveals about myself in the first paragraph!)

Hadley, Russell Edgington and John Quinn….. (via @SassyJessOB)

In my first post in the 2012 Fang-A-Thon I thought that what could Alan Ball surely miss???

Now here’s the thing…..

I don’t think Alan Ball is a complete screw up, however he did bring Sookie Stackhouse to life and the darling Anna Paquin plays her better than anyone else probably could but with the recent topics of season 5 brewing, I’m not yet convinced the next series is going to be as good as Season 1 and 2 (which are my remotely favorite by far!) And here ill explain why….

What It’s Like to be a (part) Were… (via @CindyLouLouBear)

So, What’s it like to be a werewolf? *chuckles* Well, I kinda know.. Maybe you’d be better off asking my friend Alcide Herveaux. Or if you just want to know about “weres” in general you could talk to my boyfriend, John Quinn. He’s a weretiger *grins* I know they know!

I’m only part were, so I don’t shift. But, Once a month, I DO know what it’s like to be affected by the full moon.

It’s…Intense. My senses are sharper, my smell is crazy~good! And My sex drive, well.. *blushes* that goes a little crazy~good, too!
