Night 24

True Blood Season 5 Sneak Peeks (via @DarlingSookie)

Last week’s Season 5 Premiere Party in LA yielded Truebies everywhere with three more sneak peeks into the upcoming season:

Now I don’t know about anyone else, but Pam and I can tell ya, Eric won’t even pick up his own towel, let alone clean an entire office. He has crews that handle this sort of thing and trust me, I’ve seen the invoices once, they get paid a pretty penny for their thorough cleaning and discresion. So this seems like a great piece of fiction by Alan Ball.

Plus, if vamps are this great at cleaning, why did it take my disappearance to get the remanents of MaryAnn’s mayhem out of my house and off the wall? I mean, these vamps are so determined to prove they care for me, but instead of buying me expensive kitchen appliances, how ’bout ya pick up a broom every once and a while?

Anyways, I guess I have more important things to worry about. After all, Russell’s runnin’ wild and free after a year in a cement grave. And of course, there’s also that messy business of the psycho bitch were, Debbie, who’s head I recently blew off.

I know Alcide ‘abjured’ Debbie and apparently, among the Were community, this holds great significance. But I highly doubt his feelings for her changed just like that. In fact, I’m willing to bet he’s hurting inside after everything that went down and I honestly don’t know how to tell him I shot and killed Debbie.

I mean, yes, she broke into my house and tried to kill me. But honestly, I don’t know that I could rationally just not hate the person who killed someone I loved, even if it were in self-defense.

Honestly, I feel bad for Terry and Arlene for losing their home to that freak fire. But I’ve got more important things to worry about than them temporary living in luxery out at Belle Reve. I suppose that’s a bit callous of me to say, but come on, you live in a fully restored plantation home that is the envy of most of Bon Temps, should ya really be complainin’?

What do y’all think about the clips? Feel free to post your comments below!

Character I’d like to see (via @mswriteok)

Remember learning about sets in math?
True Blood and the Southern Vampire Mysteries share most of the same people, but each universe has characters not found in the other.
I’d like to move one character from the “Not Found in True Blood” to inclusion in both SVM and TB.
I want to meet, and get to know, Niall Brigant, Sookie’s great-grandfather and a fairy prince. What if the fact she is descended from Fae royalty is what gives her both those unique powers of telepathy and white light fingers, as well as no known blood type?
Niall is described like this: “His glamour is that of an elegant, handsome older man with green eyes and long, pale hair.”*
If the show has the budget and great persuasive skills, I have just the man in mind to play Niall.

Yup, David Bowie. He’s long, lean, elegant and a perfect Niall. This might be something that could interest him. I’d surely love to see him on True Blood. He has enough stature both as a rock star and an actor to stand up to Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard.
Can’t you see the scene where Eric takes Sookie out to dinner to meet someone and introduces her to her grandfather?
And as I see it, Niall could shed some light (yes, it’s a bad pun but those are the best) on how it is Sookie has her gifts and how she can better use and control them? And who knows, maybe she has a few more powers she hasn’t manifested yet, ones Niall could clue her in on.
Now that I’ve cast Niall, what’s the next step in making my dream a reality?
Any help would be appreciated.

Character comment in S4E8 (via @TrueBloodMame)

Character comment in S4E8Godric gave a comment during Narnia scene:The ability of a vampire to feel what humans call love diminishes rapidly through the years.  The closest an older vampire such as Eric comes is in his relationship to his progeny, but that, too, does not quite approach what Eric is feeling right now. The elation is contagious: to be happy with another person—human or vampire. I hope that Eric and Sookie can enjoy this moment, then embrace it, and hold on to it forever. And not worry about what will happen when this spell eventually breaks and Eric returns to his old self.

True Blood Tumblr Themes! (via @TB_PamR)

You might have noticed my designer tumblr theme. -smirks- It was created for me by my lovely, extremely talented and very deadly Childe, @Scarlett_Area5. Since not everyone is blessed with such a wonderful Progeny (and don’t eventhinkof making a comment @Eric_NorthmanTB, this is graphic art not writing Fangathon posts!), I thought I’d highlight some places you can find True Blood themes for tumblr to use on your own tumbleog.

In no particular order, look for True Blood tumblr themes at:

As you can see, those fortunate enough to have True Blood themes are in a very select group -smirks- Now you can be one of us! Just don’t go bothering my Progeny asking for a custom theme. One of us would have to kill you…and we’d both probably enjoy it -smirks-

Sorry for the tardy post, I was at the Howl  Festival till a bit ago, had a good time in the East Village.
These GIFs are from my friends at DiariesBloodTumblr, last night these had me rolling! Steve Newlin dancing his little bootie off, to Jess’s chagrin. Oba Oba!

Also last night, Jim Parrack tweeted this pic, is his hair colored?

How TB is dealing with Anna’s baby bump from Access Hollywood-Anna Paquin and husband/ “True Blood” co-star Stephen Moyer are expecting their first child together, and while the news is joyous for the pair, a baby doesn’t quite fit in with Sookie Stackhouse’s (played by Anna) storyline. Consequently, “True Blood” creator Alan Ball says the show will work around Anna’s baby bump, using age-old on screen camera tricks. “So, in the last few episodes, Sookie’s holding a big purse in front of her at all times,” Alan told Access Hollywood with a laugh, at the “True Blood” Season 5 premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “I actually heard from the costume designer about midway through the season, she went, ‘Sookie can’t wear a Merlotte’s T-shirt anymore.’ And I went, ‘Well, it’s a good thing Sookie isn’t really at Merlotte’s anymore, she’s basically trying to save the world.’ “So, we’ll put her in loose-fitting, save the world outfits,” he added.

Even an extra crispy Russell has to keep up with his calls (from season 3).

More from my bookmarks last night-  from Tommy Lightfoot Garrett –

Rutina Wesley Reveals Tara’s Fate On Season 5 Of ‘True Blood’ While Dennis O’Hare Shocks Viewers With The Identity Of The Character Who Dug Up King Russell, Highlight Hollywood News– More at the link.

Dennis O’Hare hinted about the person or character that dug him up from under the concrete, where he was placed at the end of Season 3. “Tommy, it’s a surprising character. And I think you get a hint in episode two, and then a big hint in episode five.”  When asked what we can expect from the exiled monarch. Shall he return a bit nicer this time around. “He’s still vicious, he’s still dangerous, he’s still highly charming, but they added all this stuff to him. We get to see him fall in love!” And when Rutina Wesley found out our readers at Highlight Hollywood want to know if she died. She said, “Ah, isn’t that sweet! They care about Tara that much?” No, not really, they just want to know! Of course we all love and care about Tara, even though her whining gets on our last nerve! She told the media, “[I’m] definitely coming back, just can’t tell you quite how. The interesting thing, for me, is the fans watching Tara recover. She kind of becomes a new woman. The journey she’s about to embark on is out of control.”

Countdown video, remember we had them before? Is that the Fae Club?

Episode listings as of June 3.

So You Want to RP (via @VampKingBill)

some hints that might help out the new player that’s trying to approach someone to play with them.

  • If they’re in a group, have you checked out the website for that group and tried to join it?

Group websites will tell you who is taken or needed and will tell you right away the odds of getting a positive response. If you contact me as Sookie, you’re going to get declined. I have @DarlingSookie and I’m not looking for another. Most groups don’t allow duplicates in unless there’s some kind of reason for it. Also, most people in groups don’t play with those not in the group. It’s nothing personal, it just makes life easier. I will personally respond to occasional compliments/comments made by characters from another group, but you won’t see me RPing with them.

Not sure if they’re in a group? Check their profile. There will either be a link to follow, a mention of a group name, or letters that identify them. When in doubt, ask. They should get back to you with a response.

  • Have you checked out their storyline?

Some groups are strictly show cannon. Some are strictly SVM novels. Some are hybrid. Some are set in a particular season. Some are canon only. Some are mostly original characters. Your character may or may not fit into the mold of the game. If your character doesn’t make sense compared to where the game is at, you’re going to get a rejection. Personally, I find it irritating when I get a request from someone that there character just won’t make sense. I remain flattered you want to play with me, but you’re just wasting both of our time.

  • Don’t get angry if you get turned down.

Trust me, I know it’s hard to get established on Twitter. But getting angry won’t help your cause. If anything, it will validate the player’s decision to turn you away because no one really wants overly dramatic people in their group. If you do get turned down go back to step one and do your research. Maybe you’ll find there’s a wanted character in a group that will get you your same goal (say interaction with Eric) just with a different character.

  • Feel free to start your own group.

The great thing about twitter is there are an infinite number of possible characters. Can’t find a group that’s right for you? Look for other unaffiliated characters and play with them. There are players out there who will RP with whomever, it just takes time and energy to find them. Or if you’ve got some other friends who are interested, start your own group. You don’t need to be in one of the major groups to have fun. You’ll find your niche eventually, it just may not be where you started.

I hope this helps some new players and I wish you all the best on your RP journey!

TV Line’s Spoiler Alert Reveals More True Blood Season 5 Spoilers (via @EricSookieLover)

For my fangalicious (Day 24) Fang-A-Thon post for today, I figured I’d share with you some more True Blood Season 5 spoilers in video form once again! This comes to us from TV Line.com where they discussed Mad Men and Private Practice as well as True Blood in this edition of their “Spoiler Alert” videos.

If you don’t want to watch the whole video…just skip ahead to the 3-minute mark of the video to find out what the True Blood cast revealed to TV Line!

WARNING: If you don’t want to know – don’t watch below!

This is what TV Line teased as to what you’ll find out by watching this video!

Megan Masters’ red-carpet interviews with the cast and creator Alan Ball at the HBO hit’s premiere! Among the spoilers to which I should alert you before you watch, she finds out:

* that this is the season of “church and state”
* that we’ll learn Eric and Pam’s backstory
* the nature of Eric’s relationship with his sister
* how holier-than-thou Steve takes to life as a fanger
* how Russell is different this time around
* and, last but not least, which blood-sucker will fall madly in love when he least expects to!

Does this pique your curiosity? Watch the video below!

For me, I’m looking forward to finding out Eric and Pam’s history the most. Followed by Eric and Nora. I’m also intriqued by what Denis O’Hare said about how Russell has changed after being buried and Russell falling in love. As well as what Michael McMillian said about Steve Newlin and how he feels about being a vampire. My money is riding on Russell falling in love with Steve Newlin. And I can’t wait to hear Pam’s ‘Walmart one-liner’!

For those who have strong feelings about Tara, here’s a pic I took from a screencap of this video!

LMAO! Sorry, I couldn’t resist, when I saw some of her facial expressions!

What are your thoughts? Feel free to share ‘em via TV Line’s Spoiler Alert Reveals More True Blood Season 5 Spoilers.

IF YOU COULD MEET ONE CHARACTER FROM TB/SVM, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY? (via @Aly_x)

Godric

Why? He’s been around for over 2000 years, imagine everything he’s witnessed during that time, imagine the immense amount of knowledge he has! Seriously, I would just love to sit down with him and listen to him recount everything from the past, it would probably take years but I really wouldn’t mind, I’d happily do it! Could you imagine the stories he’d be able to tell you!? It’d be incredible! You’d gain so much knowledge from his stories, and knowledge is power. Not to mention the fact I have a feeling he’d be the sort who wouldn’t loose patience with you should you not grasp something straight away, he’d explain it to you until you understood. My only concern is how softly spoken he is, I’d worry all the time that his gentle tone and wonderful stories would act like a bedtime story and lull me into sleep in the early hours of the morning, that would be rather rude and I’d hate to appear rude.

Best Evidence (via @JBDuRoneTB)

What is it about blogging that makes one come to confessional every once in a while? In one of my first blogs, I confessed to being an unabashed Eric fan. I’m still picking the tar and feathers out of my chest hair for that one; thanks BillsBabes! Today, I’m about to confess yet another thing that will probably make some of you want to yank out the rest of the tar and replace it with Sookie’s maenad scratch back goop.

But first, why the blogging confessionals? I’ve seen this in other blogs too. And on Facebook and Twitter, too. Has social media now become the modern vehicle for the Sacrament of Penance? It’s anonymous, just like the good old-fashioned booths were meant to be. The penance comes at the hands of those responding to your confession. No more “Hail Marys” or “Our Fathers” – now it’s reTweets, Likes and Followbacks that mark forgiveness of our sins. That, well, and loss of followers. God, I hope that doesn’t happen with this blog. Any fewer followers and I’ll have to start recruiting homeless people to follow it. But I digress…

I am a reformed hunter. Yes, I used to don the camo clothes, trod stealthily into the foreboding forest and bring down the rabid beasts that lurk there. I had all of the requisite gear and tried all the “known” methods for hunting. Although, by the standards of my peers, I wasn’t a great hunter, I still ended the lives of many forest denizens.

Eventually, it dawned on me that it wasn’t the hunting that appealed to me; it was the time spent quietly enjoying nature. Watching the world wake up in pre-dawn hours. Observing the forest denizens (whose sentence had been commuted by yours truly) yawn and stretch and go through their morning routine. I just watched this and let them enjoy their day. Why should I mess up a perfectly good morning for them?

Eventually, my hunting buddies caught on. Trophy sized deer would walk past my stand, to either be shot or missed by the guy over the next hill. So, I was invited to not go hunting anymore. Fair enough – I now hike, backpack and do my communing from the seat of my kayak. And, I’m saving a lot of money! Hunting gear, licenses and the latest and greatest technology are premium purchases! After my initial investment in hiking and kayaking gear, I havent’ had to make any major purchases in years.

Hunters use the latest products in pursuit of their sport, just like any other endeavor. Whether it be a new camo pattern, scent suppression or scope optics, most hunters will spend small fortunes in pursuit of their sport. That doesn’t include membership dues to hunting clubs.

A piece of technology that came into use during my hunting days were trail cams. You’ve all seen them by now; digital cameras in hardened, waterproof cases that are left out in a prospective hunting area to capture what passes through. The idea is to later go back and shoot the fauna model you’ve just filmed. These cameras have night vision, as most game animals move at night. You can’t actually HUNT most at night, so I never saw the point in finding out where an animal was nocturnally. My fellow hunters may not have been too bright…

These game cameras have also been picked up by the cryptid hunting community to spot their even more elusive prey; bigfoot, chupacabra, Jersey Devil, etc. I’ve seen them on shows like Finding Bigfoot, MonsterQuest and other shows. I think they need to move on to another approach – they havent gotten the definitive proof of a cryptid yet using a trail cam. These critters are camera shy.

All of this brings me to this point; if Bon Temps were a real place in the rural south (or rural anywhere for that matter), there would be hunters all over the place using the latest and greatest technology, including a prodigious amount of trail cams. Shouldn’t some of these cameras pick up some of the unusual activity around Bon Temp? A beastly maenad stalking the back roads, packs of wolves and panthers where none belong, Sam going on nude jogs through the forest (it’s gone viral on YouTube), fairies flashing in and out or joy riding in their flying chandelier.

Someone would capture some of this on camera and it would eventually be picked up by the news, Department of Natural Resources or the cryptid community. Researchers, zoologists and TV news crews would descend on Renard Parrish to figure out what the hell was going on.

Frankly, I want the Finding Bigfoot peeps to come out. They would do a night investigation (again, with the night thing), hear something in the distance and exclaim “That’s a Squatch!”. Or they’d pick up a distant blur on a night vision camera and exclaim “That’s a Squatch!”. Bobo would emerge from behind a tree where he was taking a leak and the other three would exclaim “That’s a Squatch!” Actually, I think that Bobo IS the Squatch – he’s just an advance man they send out to get the locals worked up before the film crew gets there.

The cryptid hunters need to expand their horizons. While looking for Bigfoot, they should really be keeping an eye out for the Were, were-panthers, lusty fairies and dudes jogging naked through the forest. That’s where the real mystery lies.

And now, as we close this confession, I’d like to end with: http://youtu.be/e4q6eaLn2mY

Day 24: Pamela Ravenscroft (via @Eric_NorthmanTB)

My progeny. She’s fierce, an excellent business woman and she’s loyal. A vampire doesn’t truly know what he is getting himself into when he makes a vampire but I have to say that I am proud of my progeny. She is everything that I wanted in a Child. When I spotted her as a human, there was something about her that intrigued me and I could tell that she was far better than the life that her day and age dictated. She was not meant to be a housewife and birthing children until her husband got sick of her. She was meant to be a vampire. And so, I made her one.

She can test my patience at the best of time. Sometimes she has a hard time remembering what the definition of ”obedience” is but I know that Pam is the one vampire that I can trust. After all, the only vampire a vampire can trust, is the one he made.
