True Blood Season 5 Maker’s Day Promo Video (via @vs4as)

HBO posted a new video to YouTube for “Maker’s Day”. Celebrate Maker’s Day and the Season 5 premiere of True Blood on Sunday, June 10th. We see scenes of True Blood vampires and their makers. Included is a a new season 5 scene of Eric Northman and his child, Pam. This was part of the clip shown on NBC linked here.

Love hearing Eric say this to Pam “You are my child. You were born to greatness.” He seems to be comforting Pam. (perhaps he needs to leave for a dangerous mission)

They also included the very tender moment when Godric chose to meet the sun and Eric pleaded with him to not do so (and even offered to meet the sun with him)

Waiting for the new season has sucked but the new season will be here in less than a week!

“Do you go to Dillards!?…”

Anything with Pam is a sure hit, she’s wonderful and sarcastic and JUST IMAGINE SHOPPING WITH HER. It would be great!

I also love all of the videos surrounding Jess and her baby vamp blog as I think it’s cute that the writers are keeping her in touch with her humanity and that they’re using her as a way to engage the fans with the show more, It also give the illusions that, even though we know vampires don’t really exist (sobs), they are as Eric put it ‘just as different from one another as humans are, because we were humans.’ thus helping to erase the stereotypical vicious/cruel/nasty vampire image. If those in the show who hated vampires were to come across this blog, if all of it was real, they would see that Jess is just as human as they are and may feel sympathetic towards her and therefore be less likely to judge vampires straight away.

I don’t know if I did a very good job explaining myself there, but I hope you catch my drift…

Fang-A-Thon Day 25: Maker’s Day (via @VampKingBill)

Why thank you for that Jess, it’s quite sweet of you! Also, I hope you are sincere in your lack of rush to become a Maker yourself. You will know when the time is right for you become one, whether that is thirty years from now or three hundred. It can be a truly rewarding experience after you get through the initial headaches, just like it has been with you. I am proud to claim you as my progeny and I hope we celebrate many Maker’s Day’s to come.

US Weekly True Blood Season 5 Premiere Episode Stay Indoors (via @vs4as)

US Weekly issue June 11, 2012 has a feature titled “Stay Indoors” listing shows readers should watch this summer. The premiere episode of True Blood is listed and the page scans are in the gallery below.

The article reported by Brody Brown and Zachary Johnson catches fans up on where we left of in season 4:

“Sookie can never sever ties between Bill and herself or Eric and herself,” says Ball. Family lore: “An agreement made hundreds of years ago will have a profound impact” on Sookie, Ball tells Us. Also havin an impact: sexy Alcide.

Viking – what Eric is in his heart and soul

“Hey, Sookie! Where have you been? Come. Come play with me. It’s wonderful here. I am Aegir, God of the Sea, and you are Ran, my sea goddess.”

“Eric, snap the fuck out of it. You have no loyalty to Bill Compton. You are a Viking vampire god and you bow to no one. If someone crosses you, you rip out their liver with one fang.”

Much ado about Jessica (via @JBDuRoneTB)

My love/hate relationship with Alan Ball has several chapters. It’s actually a hate/love/hate relationship, which I’m certain he is very upset about.

Today’s Alan Ball rant? Jessica.

I think he did an amazing thing by creating Jessica. As you book readers know, she is not canon and is unique to True Blood. When she was introduced, I applauded the concept and eagerly waited for the unfolding of her story line.

It was entertaining to see Bill shuffle her off to Eric and Pam. And equally entertaining to them shuffle her back. Her dead trucker disposal problems (complete with chain saw rental) was hilarious. I liked her being a waitress and Merlottes and revealing Arlene’s bias against vamps.

Her relationship with Hoyt was cute though the end of Season 3. So what if Summer makes a mean biscuit? She’s got nothing on what Jessica has cooking in her oven!

However, I refuse to see Jessica as one of the desirables on True Blood. She’s eternally 17 and therefore off the menu. I have a fatherly or big-brotherly perspective of Jessica. That being said, I recognize her beauty and appeal to those who see her as a desirable; she is statuesque, with stunning coloring.

That’s the love, now the hate;

AB took a page from “Lost” with certain expects of Jessica. What became of her pesky healing hymen? Why was there a doll in the house she shared with Hoyt at the end of Season 3? How has Maxine Fortenberry left them alone? Bon Temps is a small town – Maxine should be all in their business.

Season 4 was the worst for Jessica. I get that her relationship with Hoyt was falling apart. But to fall for Jason Stackhouse? As part of that awful Hot Shot storyline? Puh-lease!

I thought her being part of the Vamp-Matrix hit squad against the witches was out of place, too. Nothing we’ve seen about her character leads us to think she was that much of a bad ass. I’m not saying she couldn’t do it, I’m saying it was out of her character. How is it Eric and Bill had confidence in her during battle? She’s a young, inexperienced and immature Vamp – not the sort of person I would choose for that situation.

Sadly… I have no interest now in what becomes of Jessica in Season 5. The way her character was written in Season 4 has made it a dead end for me. Jessica needs to take a trip to New Orleans like Tara did or some other self-awareness odyssey to rein in my interest.

And no, for Gods sake, I do NOT want to see her naked! I’m no pedophile

*Bonus random thought from the mind of the Dude; why are there no Vamp Ninjas? A Vamp Ninja should be able to bitch slap Russell Eddington, no matter how old (young he is). Or, let’s have Bruce Lee show up as a Vamp, a la Bubba. I can sleep better tonight now that I’ve got that off my chest.

Monday! (via @LuvBONESnTBlood)

It’s Monday!

I bought Season 4 from Amazon last night so I can watch it on my laptop or kindle fire. I know I’m missing the extras the DVD gives but I don’t worry too much I’m sure they will be on Youtube at some point LOL!

I am also finishing my re-reading of Dead Reckoning and then wll re-read Deadlocked even though I just finished that not too long ago. Once I am finished with the books I am going to marathon it. Go thru 1-4 one more time straight thru up until Sunday night!

Seems HBO has a mini marathon of there own earlier in the day on Sunday so maybe if I plan things right I’ll go right up until then.

With so much speculation and promos, trailers, interviews, etc…All I know is this should be the best season for Action thus far. It’s sad that we might not get the Eric and Sookie love we want so much but they fact that it’s back and in full swing with the Viking Sex God and the telepathic fairy it’s ok…..for now!

Eric {to Sookie}: I wish you the best Sookie Stackhouse…

Camilla Luddington Talks True Blood Season 5 (via @EricSookieLover)

In today’s (Day 25) fangalicious Fang-A-Thon post, I’m going to share with you an interview with Camilla Luddington, who plays Claudette (Claudine’s sister) in True Blood Season 5! As you bookies may remember, Claudette died before we ever got to know her in the book series. We have only gotten to know her through what Claudine and Claude revealed in the series.

WARNING: If you don’t want to know – don’t read below!

Here is a portion of what she shared in the interview with True Blood Wetpaint.

Tell me what’s new on True Blood!

What isn’t new? This season is going to be incredible. I play a fairy called Claudette. Sookie’s fairy godmother was called Claudine and she got killed off and I’m her sister.

So I am helping Sookie discover more about her past that she didn’t know and uncover what it means to be a fairy and have powers and all that kind of good stuff that she may need in the future.

So do you have a big arc — can you say?

It’s a big arc but um, I have not got the finale script yet so I don’t even know what happens to me in the end, so we’ll see.

You could die!

You could always die. It’s True Blood! There are vampires walking around. Yeah. You don’t know! We’ll see.

So you were a fan of the show before you tried out?

I was a massive fan of the show. I geeked out completely when I got it and every second on set, I’m geeking out. I’ve watched it since day one, for years now, so I’m excited!

If you would like to read more from this interview, please click here!

I don’t know about you, but I’m very curious to see how they write the role of Claudette. As you know, all of the fairy stories which have been featured on True Blood, have ended up being EPIC FAILS. I wonder if this one will end up the same? I do hope that Sookie will learn how to use her powers wisely, because that has been an EPIC FAIL too.

What do you think? Share your thoughts via Camilla Luddington Talks True Blood Season 5.

Day 25: Jessica’s VBlog (via @Eric_NorthmanTB)

For those who do not know, Jessica, the resident baby vampire in my Area, has posted a video for Makers Day in appreciation for her Maker, Bill Compton.

Is she always like this Bill? Although, I’m sure it is helpful. You are more likely able to get the truth from her before she even realizes what she has done. Are you aware that she has an online blog? I am glad that I made Pam when technology was not what it was today. Good luck with that.

Jessica-You may think that you do not want to be a Maker but you are too young to make that decision. 100 years, 500 years, 1,000 years from now, you may decide that you are ready to be a Maker and you will grant the same gift that Compton has given to you.

Happy Maker’s Day, who knew?

From AfterEllen– Rutina’s and Lucy Griffith’s interviews (more at the link)-

Valentina Cervi is also joining that cast as Salome, who, the actress said is “2000 years old, she’s very powerful, she’s part of the authority [and] she has a big wound inside of her because she’s been betrayed…” While Cervi said the bulk of her scenes are with fellow new regular Chris Meloni (Law & Order: SVU), we asked about her character’s romantic situation on the show and, obviously having been coached not to give too much away, she would only tease that “it’s going to be very interesting.” She did hint that “Salome is a seductress so she’s going to encounter different characters.”

TVLine’s Megan Masters’ red-carpet interviews with the cast and creator Alan Ball at the HBO hit’s premiere! Among the spoilers to which I should alert you before you watch, she finds out (go to 2:40 for True Blood)-

* that this is the season of “church and state” * that we’ll learn Eric and Pam’s backstory * the nature of Eric’s relationship with his sister * how holier-than-thou Steve takes to life as a fanger * how Russell is different this time around * and, last but not least, which blood-sucker will fall madly in love when he least expects to.

The Erotic Effects Of Drinking Vampire Blood: (via @QueenFaeMab)

If Vampire Blood, or V as it’s commonly called is consumed by a Human (or any other creature) even in a small doses it will heighten the senses, increase strength, cause hallucinations, and bond the drinker with the Vampire. The effects are different with each person; however, if the blood is taken in a large dose, it causes several different effects, such as healing someone who has injuries and an increased libido. Men experience an enhanced erection for a long period of time.

The first time Sookie drinks Bill’s blood, she dreams about running outside in her night gown and throwing her arms around him as they embrace. Her desires are short lived when she awakens to her cat Tina staring at her. Another example is in season 3 after Sam drinks Bill’s blood and has a dream where a shirt-less Bill knocks on his hotel door and asks Sam for his shirt and to use his shower. The phone rings and Sam wakes up. The water sure is hard in Arkansas. *giggle*  After Jason’s werekitty trauma, he is found by Hoyt and Jessica and she immediately offers him her blood. He begins having very erotic dreams about Jess in only a bra and panty. This dream is also short-lived as Hoyt suddenly pops up in his dream. Three’s a crowd Jason. After being shot in the leg, Eric offers Lafayette his blood and Laff begins dancing around and humping everything in the room! So be careful when consuming V or else you could end up naked in a field somewhere and humping everything in sight!

The True Blood Game (via @TB_PamR)

Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot about this E3. I’m not sure what it is, but it seems to have something to do with games. Maybe those things Eric likes to play on his phone while enthralling vermin at Fangtasia -smirks- He thought no one noticed.

Anyway, since I wrote the book on TBRP and the 2nd edition is just about to be released, I thought I might give those game manufacturers meeting in Los Angeles something to think about when they go to design the True Blood game.

First, make it an MMORPG. You only have to scratch the surface of Twitter to realize there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of fans role playing True Blood characters. Rather than trying to beat them, game makers should join them and create a game that allows them to continue their role play but within an highly interactive multimedia universe rather than one that is mostly text.

Second, don’t try to combine or merge the worlds of the novels and the television series. They have diverged too far to ever come together again. Besides, a game, and I use the term loosely, based on the books already exists. Stick with the show.

Finally, create scenarios, preferably actual mysteries, that can have many different paths and solutions. Perhaps game makers could begin by picking up dropped story lines from the show and allowing players to tie them up. Or they could create what if points within the storylines depicted in the show. Of course, they can always create new storylines. There’s enough going on on Twitter and in TB fanfic to plant the seeds of hundreds of scenarios for players to explore.

That’s really all there is to creating a True Blood game. -smirks- Well that and finding artists who can actually create game characters that resemble the real deal.

Sookie has been very adamant about Bill being unlike other vampires, so what is he really like? I think that the penultimate picture gives us the answer. And even Bill agrees that most vampires are not like him. The question is, is that something good or something bad?

…and the Pulitzer Prize in fiction goes to: (via @mswriteok)

When Sookie Stackhouse finally has enough of snarky customers thinking all kinds of things about her at Merlotte’s and wherever else her waitressing career may take her, I have an idea for her next career.
She should write fact-based fiction. People do it all the time.
Look at all the “Law and Order” franchises. At the beginning of everyone of them, there’s a disclaimer explaining that each episode is fiction and even if it sounds almost exactly like a murder/abduction/robbery etc. that has been smeared all over the news, it is not.
It’s the same theory used in other fictitious media: Any resemblance to any person living or dead is purely coincidental.
Sookie could craft books about her adventures with vampires, shifters, weres, fairies, elves, demons, witches and others and if she bases her protagonist on herself, she will have a bestseller.
I’m sure some supernatural types have publishing interests and would be glad to print these books and stock them on bookshelves worldwide.
Sookie does have a way with a tale. She has been working on her vocabulary and is always trying to learn. Sounds like a writer to me.
The money would help her in so many ways. So far, the money she has earned using her telepathy and inherited, she has spent wisely, so it would be nice to see our favorite waitress not worrying about money all the time.
I would so enjoy seeing Sookie go on a manic shopping spree. I’d love to see her buy new furniture, new housewares, but most of all, seeing her indulge herself by buying an entire new wardrobe, including jewelry and especially shoes.
Can you imagine Eric and Bill when Sook came sashaying into her newly furnished living room in a flirty little silky dress, shoes that would make Pam jealous and jewelry she’d chosen herself? Her confidence would be blinding. She’d need no fairy power to stun everyone there with her own style.
At last.
It could work for her. She now owns a computer, so she needs a printer and several thumb drives that she can keep safe to protect her work, and she’s in business.
You know, she could do no better than to use that great writer Charlaine Harris as a model.
