True Blood Season 6 Questions (via @vs4as)

It has been a week since the True Blood season 5 finale aired. Fans are still wondering just what did they see in the finale and what will it mean for the new season next summer.

Here are a few questions I know I have:

What will Andy do with 4 half fae daughters?

Maurella delivered not just one baby on the pool table at Merlottes but FOUR! She left the babies in Andy’s care with the comment that it is his duty to make sure at least half of them make it to adulthood. Will they grow quicker than human babies? Will Andy manage with 4 newborns? Holly is a saint for helping deliver the babies. Not sure she will be willing to raise the babies (but she just might to help Andy out). Alan Ball hinted that the babies may go live with the fairies as protection (in the TV Guide interview)

Who is Warlow?

Jason is seen in the bonus scene shown on HBO Go calling out that he’s out for “Warlow”. Nora looks quite puzzled that Jason is aware of that name. Sounds like Nora will have some insight for him as to the identity of Warlow. What will he want with Sookie? What will it mean? Is he a friend or foe? He did kill the Stackhouses (or so we are led to believe). Have we already met this vampire? (Or will he be a new one shown in solid form not the spirit form shown in season 5)

What is Billeth?

Inside True Blood blog posted that : The blood of Lilith should come with a warning label. May cause a thirst for power and possible hallucinations. Or is she real? “Whether this creature is an apparition or a deity, it doesn’t really matter,” says Alan Ball in the Inside the Episode video. “She’s pitting them against each other to get the strongest to survive.” In the interactive features on HBO GO, Stephen Moyer says Lilith is setting up “a giant, bloody game of ‘Survivor.’

In the season 5 finale Bill Compton drank the vial that contained the ‘blood of Lillith’. This caused him to liquify and what appeared to be a ‘final death’.  Looks were definitely deceiving when we next see Bill rise up from the blood and appear to be the new version of “Lillith”. Just what is this incarnation? (Billith) Is it still Bill Compton? Vampire Bill did go very dark in season 5 so now this new incarnation is another shock for fans.

Will fans see Eric and Sookie ‘together’ again in season 6?

No I don’t just mean in the same scene. Will they rekindle the romance they shared while Eric had amnesia? (I might have hated the whole witches story line but Marnie’s spell did give us a great chance to see Amnesia Eric). Eric and Sookie did share a tender moment when they both thought that Bill was truly dead. Will they join forces to battle Billith?

Will they find that love again? Eric has admitted his love for Sookie. Will any of that be shown in season 6? Again Alan Ball teased fans with “But right now we don’t know how Sookie feels about vampires. The fairy elder said, “There’s a reason you give your heart out to every fangster you meet.” That’s going to be very interesting to find out why.”

The season finale of course answered and finalized some story lines but also left even more open for season 6. Hopefully the storylines will make sense and not cause for cluttered and rushed episodes. Season 6 will only have 10 episodes so how it will all play out will be interesting.

True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps Cookbook (via @vs4as)

HBO enlisted chef Marcella Bienvenu to create the new “True Blood” themed cookbook. The book titled, “True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps”  will be availabe for sale on September 5, 2012.

Chef Marcelle Bienvenu explained to Access how she crafted the scrumptuous Bon Temps-inspired recipes in the book, including the cake on the cover, which she’s already indulged in several times.

AccessHollywood.com: When you got the call to contribute to a ‘True Blood’ cookbook, what went through your head?

Chef Marcelle Bienvenu: I don’t get HBO. I was kind of wondering about it because I knew it was set in Louisiana, and of course, I teach culinary at a university and the students knew about it, so they were just wild! And of course, when they sent me all the series to look at, I went ‘Woah!’ (laughs). But it was interesting and there is so much mention of South Louisiana food in the show that it was really kind of a big challenge to be able to pick up the dishes that they mentioned and work on them.

Access: What were some of the dishes that you had to try and figure out how to make?

Chef Marcelle: The first ones we did — and it was really fun — [were] the drinks that they served at the Fangtasia bar. So it was like Tequila Moonrise instead of Tequila Sunrise. We had a Vamp-Aid instead of Kool-Aid. We had Lovin’ in the Coven, we had a Dead on the Beach drink, so it was kind of fun trying to find drinks that would be something that you could drink, that would tie in with the series. The dishes were pretty easy. We had a shrimp cocktail, we had an oyster po boy, we had red beans and rice and an okra gumbo, crawfish boil, chicken fried steak, chess pie, fried apple pie — so it was very southern, very Louisiana, so it was not that hard to come up with real recipes.

Access: It’s still before breakfast here, but just hearing you read those titles, yum!

Chef Marcelle: Working on it, I gained about 8 pounds, because not only do I teach culinary [at Nicholls State University], I had to test all these, and of course, I had some of the students help me because they were just so excited about it, but eating all of the food I have to eat in class, plus this, really put on some weight.

Access: Were any recipes easier to come up with than others?

Chef Marcelle: I think probably the easier ones were like the shrimp cocktail or a gumbo. They wanted me to do a [vegetarian] burger which I went, ‘Nahhhh!’ but we finally came up with something that was pretty good. And they wanted to do several things with crawfish… Instead of a sweet donut, we made like a little savory puff, and that took a little while to kind of come up with something that would work. Also they wanted to do things like fiery chicken wings, with a dipping sauce. We, of course, ran into a lot of things that had red in color. We [made] a white cake, but it had to have a berry sauce dripping over it, so it looked like blood, but it looks very good. I made four of those!

Access: How many did you consume yourself?

Chef Marcelle: I became very popular on campus, all the faculty were coming over to the kitchen where we were testing things, so they had a good treat.

Access: What did you think of the show? And are you watching now?

Chef Marcelle: I’m definitely hooked, and at school, we watch it on Monday nights because there’s several of us who have been following it, so now I’m hooked. I have to admit it.

Access: Do you have a favorite vampire?

Chef Marcelle: Bill. I like Bill. I’ll stick with Bill.

Access: Stephen Moyer is British, how do you think his accent is?

Chef Marcelle: He does remarkably well! I mean, I was afraid they’d make it to Georgia southern, I was afraid they’d make it too Cajun-y, but they do pretty well. I’m very pleased with it… Plus, he’s darn fine good looking too.

Access: And how about that Alcide, the wolf?

Chef Marcelle: Um… I kind of like him (laughs). All the guys love Sook!

SOURCE:

Here is one of the recipes from the book: “Sookie Stackhouse’s Fried Chicken”

1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Lard or vegetable oil… for deep frying

Two 3-3 1/2 pound broiler-fryer chickens cut into serving pieces

Combine the flour, salt, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne in a large plastic or paper bag. Shake to mix.

Heat about 2 inches of lard until it registers 360 degrees F on a deep-fry thermometer in a large, heavy pot. Put four chicken pieces in the bag, and shake well. Add the chicken to the hot fat and deep-fry until golden brown and cooked through, 12 to 15 minutes.

Drain the chicken on paper towels.

Repeat the process with the remaining chicken.

Serve hot or warm.

Fangover Fangathon Day 5 Worst Storyline (via @SookieStack_SVM)

While there were some good parts about this story line, I think the Obama’s one was very ill thought out. I think it was a very poor attempt to give a nod to those of us who know the books. The good bits in it were when Luna turned into Sam and then went to find Sam, the moments there were just so funny and though it was a serious situation, I had tears rolling down my face with laughter. How the actors managed to keep a straight face when doing those scenes, I will never know. I also liked how this story line gave Martha a chance to redeem herself after what she did to Sam in the first episode. The scene where Luna sees Martha in hospital and is told that Emma ran to her was well played out by the two ladies. Martha came across as a very determined grandmother who would do anything to protect Emma.

The Obama’s “rescue of Hoyt” was in one word absurd. Hoyt just did not look right playing a member of this hate group. He was uncomfortable from the start and it seemed that all the reasons that we loved Hoyt in the previous seasons were just expected to be wiped away in a flash. I found it to be very unconvincing and there could have been better ways for Hoyt to deal with the hurt he was feeling after finding out about Jessica and Jason. This just seemed very unconvincing as a whole.

On the Subject of unconvincing, Bud as one of the leaders of the group definitely filled that description. Also To suddenly have a new character introduced as a Villain, sweetie des artes, without any real prior mention of her was also very remiss of the writers. This whole story line started off well but then seemed to get rushed in the desperate bid to find filler and also try and tie some things together; Hoyt’s hurt, Sookie and Jason’s Parent’s death and to give the season some tie to the books.

I was glad when the whole thing ended the way it did, cause there is no way this can be resurrected again.

True Blood Season 5 Countdown: 5 Days Promo Video (via @vs4as)

HBO posted their Season 5 countdown video. We are 5 days away from the premiere and this video features Joe Manganiello counting down. There are some new scenes in this promo! Working on the caps now. I spy some good ‘spoilers’ so don’t peek unless you want spoiling!!

Here are the screencaps SPOILERS!!! Don’t look unless you want spoiling!!

True Blood Season 5 Maker’s Day Promo Video (via @vs4as)

HBO posted a new video to YouTube for “Maker’s Day”. Celebrate Maker’s Day and the Season 5 premiere of True Blood on Sunday, June 10th. We see scenes of True Blood vampires and their makers. Included is a a new season 5 scene of Eric Northman and his child, Pam. This was part of the clip shown on NBC linked here.

Love hearing Eric say this to Pam “You are my child. You were born to greatness.” He seems to be comforting Pam. (perhaps he needs to leave for a dangerous mission)

They also included the very tender moment when Godric chose to meet the sun and Eric pleaded with him to not do so (and even offered to meet the sun with him)

Waiting for the new season has sucked but the new season will be here in less than a week!

Monday! (via @LuvBONESnTBlood)

It’s Monday!

I bought Season 4 from Amazon last night so I can watch it on my laptop or kindle fire. I know I’m missing the extras the DVD gives but I don’t worry too much I’m sure they will be on Youtube at some point LOL!

I am also finishing my re-reading of Dead Reckoning and then wll re-read Deadlocked even though I just finished that not too long ago. Once I am finished with the books I am going to marathon it. Go thru 1-4 one more time straight thru up until Sunday night!

Seems HBO has a mini marathon of there own earlier in the day on Sunday so maybe if I plan things right I’ll go right up until then.

With so much speculation and promos, trailers, interviews, etc…All I know is this should be the best season for Action thus far. It’s sad that we might not get the Eric and Sookie love we want so much but they fact that it’s back and in full swing with the Viking Sex God and the telepathic fairy it’s ok…..for now!

Eric {to Sookie}: I wish you the best Sookie Stackhouse…

True Blood Fan Favorite Moment: Death Winner (via @DarlingSookie)

HBO and True Blood have been askin’ for the fans to vote on their favorite True Blood moments.

This past week’s winner for Villians was none other than the King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington.

I, for one, was not surprised by this. This 3,000 year old, psychotic, revenge-driven vampire is not one you want on your bad side. In fact, you don’t really want him on your good side either. I mean, look at me, I just happen to be a tasty little morsel to this out-of-control vampire.

I mean, if you can go on live television and make the newscaster’s spine into his very own bloody scepter, while proceeding to threaten all of humanity, you have to be pretty ballsy. Then again, he did carry the liquidfied remains of his lover around in a crystal jar (despite the fact Talbot would have been mortified).

The pyschotic vampire king is returnin’ for season 5 and trouble is bound to occur.

This week’s Fan Favorite Moment is Maker.

The blood scenes you can choose are as follows:

    • Bill introduces Jessica to Tru Blood
    • Eric comes to save Godric
    • Bill and Lorena’s dark past
    • Eric shares a moment with Pam
    • Talbot chides Russell

Still haven’t voted yet? Never fear, voting is open all week and can be done here.

Only 8 days until the return of True Blood! Waitin’ Sucks, but not for much longer!

Don’t forget to check into True Blood on Getglue to receive the latest sticker!

Fang-A-Thon Day 21: 2012 True Blood Calendar (via @VampKingBill)

Can you believe we’re already half way through the year? A few more months and it’ll be that time when Calendar Clubs start popping up, and book stores will start putting out calendars for 2013. Now that I’ve owned a few, I thought I’d give you my thoughts so that for those of you who haven’t purchased one before can decide if 2013 is the year that you’ll take the plunge.

First, the good:

– Given that a lot of True Blood merchandise can often be priced a bit higher than what you might expect for it, the calendar is competitively priced at $13.99. Plus, those with patience can get them for less as they go on sale. Wait til Christmas and you can get anywhere from 40%-50% off making this a good deal.

– The production quality of the calendars is good: the calendar is on the larger side and made on heavy card stock.

The neutral:

– Pictures are always a season behind. That mean for the 2013 calendar you can expect to see Marnie, but no Roman (sorry Chris Meloni fans!). This seems to occur across various shows, so I have a feeling this is simply the result of the production schedule. Still, it can be a disappointment if you’re expecting to see a certain season-specific character appear.

The bad:

– I can’t help but shake the feeling that HBO doesn’t put in much effort when it comes to the calendars. I say this because not only are the calenders made with what essentially screen caps (stills from an episode), but they often don’t even choose flattering pictures of the given actors. To whit, here are the six of the twelve months of this year’s calendar:

Jessica, and to a lesser extent Sam look more than a little off in their shots. I find it difficult to believe they couldn’t have found a better picture to use. I will say that this years calendar is an improvement – for 2011′s “Men of True Blood Calendar” they actually cropped pictures so everything was in an odd letter box format. Not appealing at all! Now, I don’t blame True Blood for going the screen cap route – they’re far from the only show that has done so, but for a company that’s so promotion driven it just seems odd that they can’t do more. And more can certainly be done. Below is a picture from the last calendar that Heroes put out before it was ultimately cancelled:

See the difference there? The main photo is a promotion-quality photo (part of me wants to say the shoot was done specifically for the calendar, but don’t quote me on that), the smaller photo is a screen cap but one well chosen that fits with the theme. Speaking off, each page feels like a page out of a comic book, appropriate given the nature of the show. They even go so far as to give you information about the character, in this case his name, his known aliases, powers, previous jobs and relationships. In short, it’s obvious that a fair amount of thought and effort was put into the production of it and at at the same price price point . When I compare the two, I just can’t help but feel that there is no comparison to be made and it makes me wonder why HBO couldn’t do more when it’s clear they can do amazing things when they try.

Am I going to buy the 2013 edition? Maybe. I bought the 2012 version because I couldn’t find anything else to grab my interest. Whether I’ll buy this year’s version will again likely depend on whether anything else captures my eye. I’d suggest that you do the same. Otherwise, if you’re going to buy it regardless, wait until it’s on sale. HBO can do better. Let’s encourage them to try.

For tonight’s (Day 16) fangalicious Fang-A-Thon 2012 post, I thought I’d share two True Blood promo videos which aired tonight on HBO! One is a brand new fangalicious trailer – the other is a recap of Season 4 with the cast of True Blood!

This first videos is the new trailer, featuring new scenes from season 5! Watch it below!

The second is “Conjuring Up Season 4″, where the cast of True Blood take a walk down memory lane of season 4! Find out what they said below!

Here’s a couple of screencaps from some of the new scenes in the first video!

While Season 4 had a lot of WTF moments in it, I did find it interesting to see what the cast had to say about it. Plus, Alex was looking particularly YUMMY in the video, and Anna was looking beautiful as well!

As for the new scenes in the Season 5 trailer; I’m not sure what to say. I think I’ll have to watch it again…and again…and again to form some thoughts! Don’t worry, Evie will be sure to write an analysis as soon as she can!

What are your thoughts? Feel free to share them below!

Eric doesn’t seem too concerned, compared to Bill’s WTF is this face.
While those reading should beware spoilers, when last we left ‘True Blood’ at the end of season 4′s “And When I Die,” a number of mysteries were still afoot. Who set loose Russell Edgington from his concrete tomb? Who’s going to clean Tara’s brains off the wall? And who sired Steve Newlin?  Screencrush

Fang-A-Thon Day 16: I Don’t Have A Fangover Yet! (via @VampKingBill)

This time last year I think a lot of people (including myself) were starting to get a fangover from the sheer number of video promotions for Season 4 – most notably the first eight minutes of the season. Although they obviously intended for the clips to drum up interest, I think many people found they had an opposite effect. Not only did they reveal too much, but they revealed too much of a scene that ultimately could be considered one of, if not the worst of the season due to cheesy sets and absolutely awful CGI, even by True Blood’s admittedly low standards.

The Powers That Be at HBO seemed to have learned from their mistake, and, at least as of the date of publishing, have not released the first several minutes of the first episode. I applaud this move. The promotions they have done to this point have already been extremely effective at drumming up interest: on the whole I’d say the people I know are more intrigued and excited about this season than they were about Season 4. Furthermore, the lack of that kind of promotion only gives us viewers more incentive to actually watch the first episode of the season to see what goes down.

Of course I could be wrong and we could be something soon, but I really really hope that I’m right and that we won’t see anything major between now and the 10th. While waiting does suck, knowing too much sucks even more. Ply me with Get Glue stickers and maybe a few more promotional shots of Eric and Bill and that’s really all that I need. The promos have been enough, let us all just sit back, count down and wait for the first official fangover to arrive.

Interview from Gold Derby, it would be wonderful for her to get the Emmy nomination and better to get the Emmy (to match her hubs, the great Michael Emerson)-To stand out in such a crowded field of contenders is no easy feat, but Preston has made an indelible mark on the show in just a few appearances. This season she was singled out by Ken Tucker (EW) who raved that, “Preston was playing, as she has here in the past, what could have been a stock figure – the crafty person who masks the craft in eccentric hesitation … [but] she imbued the role with a quirky rhythm all her own.” She is also prominently featured in the show’s Emmy campaign as one of only four guest actors put forward by CBS for consideration (the others are Fox, Perry and Rita Wilson).
New Season 4 DVD ad from HBO

News from yesterday’s Deadline– True Blood co-executive producer Mark Hudis will take the reins of the hit HBO vampire drama if it gets renewed for a sixth season. With True Blood creator/executive producer Alan Ball stepping down as showrunner at the end of the upcoming fifth season, Hudis would be upped to executive producer/showrunner for Season 6 as part of an overall deal he has signed with HBO. The two-year pact also includes a development component. Hudis has been on True Blood for the past two seasons — last year’s Season 4 and Season 5, which premieres June 10.
Let’s do some vamp history, I posted it before but I like it, a lot.

TVGuide’s True Blood blurb-Got any scoop on True Blood? — Tyler
NATALIE: It’s going to be a fairly military-themed season. The war against the vampires is imminent, Terry’s buddy from the trenches (Scott Foley’s Patrick Devins) is back and the show is casting a tough-as-nails general who is being compared to Stormin’ Norman Schwarzkopf. Y’all better be at attention, y’hear?
They also posted the summer preview article (the one paraphrased a few days ago on this blog.)– On the Set: True Blood Raises the Stakes For Its Most Intense Season Yet.

Chris Meloni’s face is splattered with blood. He’s just shot his first staking scene for HBO’s megahit True Blood — and he’s seriously amped up.
“When that blood hit me in the face, I went, ‘This looks awesome!'” Meloni says gleefully. It’s nearly 11pm and it took two hours to set up the shot — called a “goo drop.” A bucket of stage blood (with some latex blobs mixed in for guts) is suspended from a scaffold. Just below it hangs an empty suit of clothes matching what the actor playing the doomed vamp is wearing. As the stake goes in, the bucket empties through the garments, and the bloodsucker is no more. There’s only one chance to get it right. And Meloni nailed it.
The actor’s excitement is matched only by the seriousness of the character he plays: Roman, the 500-year-old head of the Vampire Authority with the weight of the world on his pinstripe-suited shoulders. He’s chief executive not only of the vampire government but of their religion, too. “My first day on set, I recited a prayer in Aramaic,” says Meloni. No separation of church and state here.
“Roman is a politician who has a dream,” explains executive producer Alan Ball. “He was behind the coming-out-of-the-coffin [movement], something that’s been in the works for at least a hundred years. But there are factions in the vampire community who want to go back to the Dark Ages and feed on humans. The biggest arc in Season 5 is the future of peaceful coexistence.” Adds Meloni, “Roman’s determined. He wants peace, but others have been trying to stomp out his path. Think Obama with very long incisors.”
Tonight’s stakee is one of these fundamentalists, a traitor to the Authority who meets the “true death” in the sleekly furnished conference room of an underground New Orleans compound Ball has nicknamed “the Vampire White House,” where Roman and six chancellors govern the fractious vampire community.
Says Meloni, “Elliot was free-form. Roman’s more thoughtful — yet unafraid to pull the trigger. He’s a man of action. Get the facts; get it done. But they both have a certainty of their view. They both think they’re right.”
A major obstacle to Roman’s political agenda has arisen, literally, thanks to two bloodsuckers fans know and love: King of Louisiana Bill Compton and Sheriff Eric Northman . At the end of Season 3, the two buried crazed former vampire King of Mississippi Russell Edgington  in cement instead of killing him as ordered. Now he has escaped, and Bill and Eric are dragged before Roman for judgment. (It doesn’t help that they also killed the Authority’s Nan Flanagan last season.) They bargain for their survival by offering to track Russell down and bring him in.
When the duo hit the road, “bromance” blooms. “They end up caring for one another,” says Moyer, who will go behind the scenes to direct Episode 8 this season. “Me and Alex are mates, and it’s been really enjoyable actually getting to stuff where we’re not just bitch-slapping each other.” Read more at the link above.

Nice recap of the shooting in New Orleans and fan pics from Eonline’s Malkin.

He linked to this article (below) from the Times Picayune too, he should do a TB blog.
Set in Louisiana and mostly shot in the Los Angeles area, the HBO vampire drama “True Blood” came to New Orleans on Friday (May 18) to shoot street scenes. Present were actors Alexander Skarsgard (who plays Eric Northman on the show), Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton), Denis O’Hare (Russell Edgington) and Lucy Griffiths (who is joining the cast for its fifth season). Also a cast of thousands. The street was Bourbon. Various ad hoc correspondents reported on the shoot – which apparently included one scene in which Moyer jumps atop a moving taxi – for social media.

Among other “True Blood” actors to appear in the scenes, according to an HBO spokeswoman, were Michael McMillian (Steve Newlin) and Valentina Cervi (Salome). Shooting covered just one long night, according to HBO, and it’s not known if the show will return for any more New Orleans filming. The show last came to Louisiana for location shooting in July 2009, as Clinton, La., acted as stand-in for Bon Temps. The series also shot in the Shreveport area during its first season. Some location photos here. More here. MORE

True Blood Season 4 on Blu-ray with HBO Select (via @EricSookieLover)

For today’s (Day 13) fangalicious Fang-A-Thon 2012 post, I wanted to share a couple of videos with you! These are advertising True Blood Season 4′s DVD/BluRay, which comes out on May 29th for those who live in the U.S. and Canada!

Every day we’re getting closer and closer to when it comes out, and while I know some of you don’t want to buy it…I know some of you do.

Another reason why I decided to share these…they both feature Eric and Sookie as the main storyline for the season. Hmmm…something tells me they know who was the most popular this season? I wish they would’ve remembered that at the end of the season…

Anyways, hope you enjoy these videos!

This first video comes to you in the form of an infomercial.

This second video is a couple who are role-playing in the bedroom. The woman wants the guy to be “Eric”!

I don’t know about you…but I found both of these funny! LMAO! The guy can’t be Eric, no matter how hard he tries. There is just NO comparison.

I LOVE the fact they featured Eric and Sookie (or more accurately) their storyline as the key selling point. I wonder how many will buy the DVD/Blu-ray because of this?

What are your thoughts? Share ‘em below!

Waiting Sucks, But it’s So Worth it! (via @LuvBONESnTBlood)

Waiting does suck!I’ve been hearing through other sites and dedicated fans that they might use Alcide this season as a replacement for John Quinn.  I’m sorry no way! I’d rather wait another whole season without his storyline than to do that!

Don’t get me wrong I like Alcide and even as another guy trying to get into Sookie’s pants but not as a permenant fixture (that belongs to the Viking) and definitely not to over shadow or replace Quinn. They both were and are important to her storyline and they both need their own time in the show!

Alcide

Alcide played by Joe Manganiello

 on HBO True Blood

Alcide is a full blooded Werewolf whose father owns a construction/surveying company. Very Alpha and should be Packmaster but does not want the recognition. At 6ft 5 he is huge. Gorgeous eyes of green/gold, messy black hair, rough, chisled physique and full of magnetism.

Sookie first meets Alcide when Bill goes missing (book: Lorena summons him TV: Russell has him kidnapped and brought to Mississippi)  Sookie and Alcide never really get a romantic relationship into full swing eventhough he tries many times and due to Alcide’s crazy relationship with his ex-fiance Debbie Pelt. (which Sookie kills). He does not like her association with Vamps but still helps her when she needs it. He will always be there for her. They are close friends.

Quinn

John Quinn is a full blooded weretiger, is just over 6 and 1/2 feet tall, very muscular, bald, scarred and his deep violet (compared to pansies). His whole being is commanding and his presence oozes charisma and confidence.

Quinn’s eyes are like purple pansies!

He is a supernatural coordinator for Extreme(ly Elegant) Events company, his job is to arrange and emcee all types of supernatural community events, such as a packmaster contest or a vampire wedding. He becomes Sookie’s romantic partner for a time. His past is a bit hard and sad in order to get out of it he saught help from vampires who made him compete in gladiator type fights for three years. Though Sookie breaks up with him in the book in the eighth book he never stops trying to rekindle with Sookie.

John Quinn has yet to make an appearance on True Blood yet. There have been many suggestions as who could play Quinn even Ms. Harris likes Vin Diesel. Which I soooo agree with! I also like Liev Schreiber and Jason Statham myself to play him…

True Blood’s New Head Honcho (via @EricSookieLover)

Tonight’s (Day 12) fangalicious Fang-A-Thon 2012 post is brought to you by some very interesting and surprising news that has justbeen released!

HBO has named Alan Ball’s successor for season 6 – IF (that’s a pretty big if, IMO) it’s renewed for a sixth season. The bad news? It’s not me. Yeah, I know that is somewhat disappointing for you. Haha. The good news? (Depending on how you look at it.) Is the fact it’s none other than Mark Hudis!

This is what Deadline.com is reporting.

EXCLUSIVE: True Blood co-executive producer Mark Hudis will take the reins of the hit HBO vampire drama if it gets renewed for a sixth season.

While his and Ball’s paths previously crossed on the CBS comedy series Cybill, where they co-wrote several episodes during the 1997-98 season, the two first met two decades ago working at trade publication AdWeek. UTA-repped Hudis’ series credits also include Fox’s That ’70s Show and Showtime’s Nurse Jackie. While leaving True Blood full-time after Season 5, Ball is staying in business with HBO through his overall deal there. He will continue to be involved in True Blood and also executive produces new series Banshee for HBO sibling Cinemax.

Speculation is already going around that HBO is preparing themselves in case True Blood isn’t renewed. They won’t lose anything if that happens. Will this be a good thing for us? I’m not sure. Depending on how this season ends, it could mean things are still up in the air for our couple, just like they were in Deadlocked.

I guess only time will tell. Who knows? I just hope that if it’s renewed…Mark Hudis won’t disappoint us like Alan Ball did.

One other thing which came to mind when I read it was this…why is HBO handing over the reigns to someone who has only been on the show since the beginning of season 4? Why not one of the other producers? Someone else who have been there for a longer period of time?

What are your thoughts? Share ‘em below!

Canada’s Fashion Magazine has the Anna Paquin article up, here’s a tidbit.
You can learn a lot about an actress by the way she steps on set for a photo shoot. Some stars require the armour of an entourage; others need a personality-devoid space and monastic silence. Anna Paquin is unquestionably neither of the above. Upon arriving at L.A.’s Smashbox Studios on a scalding Saturday afternoon, the Winnipeg-born, New Zealand-raised actress introduces herself to the FASHION crew without hesitation. Serving up a warm, Kiwi-accented “Nice to meet you” to photographer James White—and his troop of all-guy assistants crushing on her—the 29-year-old talent does the rounds as if she were hosting a cocktail party.
“At the end of last season, Sookie told all those dudes to back off because she needed to be by herself,” Paquin says. “She’s trying very hard to stay true to that goal of independence, of not being his or his or his…and she’s trying to figure out her own life on her own terms without anyone there to catch her every time she falls. Things will be especially complicated with her and Alcide, since Sookie just shot the head off the former love of his life!”
Apart from the gunslinging and the ultra-steamy love triangles, Paquin says she does make parallels between her own life and Sookie’s so that her performances remain fresh. “There have always been aspects of her that I connect to, empathize with and understand—that’s the only way I can approach my job,” she says. “You have to find a common ground with any character. I spend a lot of time with scripts, looking for my truth.”
Another way Paquin conjures up her True Blood protagonist is by exploring HBO’s vast wardrobe department. “For me, costume is a great key to the character,” Paquin says. “What you wear is a pretty big reflection of your personality. Part of True Blood is told through Sookie’s clothes.”
