On the 19th Night of the Fang-A-Thon..

So I have some extremely exciting news for all you readers and bloggers!

We have been so pleased by the turnout and after an extremely generous donation, we have decided to host a Fangover blogging event, following the season finale of True Blood.

What exactly is a Fangover?

A fangover is what a truebie experiences the mornin’ after a new episode of True Blood has aired. The symptoms of such are as such (but not limited to): feelin’ drained and overwhelmed over the events of the newest episode, an increasing hunger or cravin’ for more, or even the intense desire to strip naked and howl at the full moon.. Oh wait, the last part is a symptom of True Blood Withdrawal.

Okay, all kiddin’ aside, a Fangover is another bloggin’ event, much like the 30 Night Fang-A-Thon. Participants will be asked to register and blog every day. Unlike the Fang-A-Thon, the Fangover will only last 15 nights and will be expressly about True Blood Season 5.

We will also have prizes, includin’ a copy of True Blood Season 4 on Blu-ray and other True Blood-related gear. I will announce the date registrations begins as we get closer to the date.

Will you be joinin’ us for our Fangover?

Fangtastic Start!

So you did it! You made it through the wait and succeeded in your first night of the Fang-A-Thon!

Congrats!

I am happy to say there are some excited Truebies participatin’ this year and I can’t wait to see what all you have to bring to the table.

Remember:

Do not get discouraged. No matter what, this is all about fun and connectin’ with Truebies like yourself (and who doesn’t like the chance to win some fangtastic prizes).

Be yourself. If you aren’t a big blogger, so be it. The rules clearly state as long as it’s about the show or the books, it counts. Period. I would love to read your opinions on why you like or dislike something, but you don’t have to write a whole novel if you don’t want to.

Use the topics page. If you find yourself strugglin’ to come up with a topic for the day or you don’t have a lot of time to blog, feel free to use this page. This is why it’s there. You don’t have to use it, but it’s certainly a great resource if you find yourself with a fangover and feel a little too drained to come up with something.

If you happen to tweet your blog on Twitter, feel free to use the #Fangathon2012.

We are not acceptin’ any new participants that will qualify for the prizes, but if you would like to join in and still blog along, gladly let us know so we can read your posts!

I hope ya’ll have a fangtastic weekend and Happy Mother’s Day for all you Truebie mamas and Makers out there!

The Kickoff to the True Blood Fang-A-Thon 2012

So congradulations to me! I’ve Just embarked on a 30 day long journey that will make me blag about TrueBlood every single day for thirty days! Now you may be asking yourself. How is this different from any other day on your blog? Well, because…

image

I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS THAT NEED TO BE RELEASED IN THIRTY DAYS OKAY

let us all say this prayer, and we can get through this together.

Trueblood will air on HBO in 30 days,

I can take my plastic fangs out of the case,

and open the bottle of trueblood.

Eric shall always be a shirtless viking God,

and Bill will always love Sookie.

I pray to HBO and every fan of trueblood, that I can one day stop reading “Sookie” as “Sookeh”

What It’s Like to be a (part) Were… (via @CindyLouLouBear)

So, What’s it like to be a werewolf? *chuckles* Well, I kinda know.. Maybe you’d be better off asking my friend Alcide Herveaux. Or if you just want to know about “weres” in general you could talk to my boyfriend, John Quinn. He’s a weretiger *grins* I know they know!

I’m only part were, so I don’t shift. But, Once a month, I DO know what it’s like to be affected by the full moon.

It’s…Intense. My senses are sharper, my smell is crazy~good! And My sex drive, well.. *blushes* that goes a little crazy~good, too!

Who Becomes Dead Ever After? (via @EricSookieLover)

Who Becomes Dead Ever After?

In my first post in the 2012 Fang-A-Thon, I thought what would make a better post to start this off with than a post about what I wish for in Dead Ever After? It goes without saying, I want Eric and Sookie to end up together in the end…but what about those who I want to see dead?

You know someone is going to die in the last and final book…but who, how, and why are the most important questions.

These are my picks and the reasons why they should die or the reasons why I want them to die. I’ve also kindly included how I want them to die. (As you can imagine…this post has been very therapeutic for me. LOL)

In no particular order…

Some common questions answered.

So I’ve received a few questions this past week and I figured I’d go ahead and answer them all here.

Where do we blog?

You can blog on any blogging site that you choose. If you prefer tumblr, by all means go for it. You do not have to create a new blog just for this event. If you already have one, feel free to use it!

What can’t we blog about?

Here’s the good news… you can blog about anything you want. There are no set boundaries on what you can and can’t discuss. The only requirement is it must be about True Blood or Southern Vampire Mysteries. So if you want to do 30 ways Alan Ball screwed up True Blood and post one way every night, feel free.

How long must each post be?

There is no requirement of how long the post has to be. Just as long as you do actually blog something related to the show or book series.

Do we have to do all 30 nights?

In order to qualify for a prize, you must complete all 30 nights.

When does it begin? When does it end?

Your first post should be posted sometime on May 11 and your final posting should be posted no later than 11:59 pm PCT on June 9.

When will the prizes be awarded?

The drawings for the prizes will happen on June 10 before the premiere of Season 5 of True Blood. You will receive an e-mail during the first week of posting on how the drawings will be handled.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to e-mail me at fangathon@gmail.com or leave a comment on the site.

Welcome to the 2012 30 Night Fang-A-Thon!

Do you believe your stamina is up to snuff?

We certainly hope so!

The time has come for Truebies everywhere to band together and fight the effects of True Blood withdrawal!

As the newest season of True Blood approaches, teasers and promos aren’t enough to keep Truebies from cravin’ more and we’ve got the solution for you!

Starting April 20, Truebies everywhere are invited to register to join in our 2012 True Blood 30 Night Fang-a-Thon!

On May 11, Truebies will be invited to start to take a bite out of their favorite show, True Blood. The concept is simple enough. For 30 nights, each participant will be expected to blog about True Blood or the book series, Southern Vampire Mysteries, the inspiration for the hit series.

What exactly do you blog about?

This is the best part about this challenge, the choice is yours!

We will provide dozens of possible topics that you may choose to blog about, or you can come up with your own daily themes!

What are the rules?

The rules are simple enough.

  • All participants must be registered by 11:59 P.M. (Pacific Coast Time) on May 11, 2012. All required information must be provided at time of registration or the participant must contact @DarlingSookie in order to correct any errors prior to the registration deadline.
  • All participants are free to post as often as they would like. However, in order to qualify for one of the prizes, the participant must complete at least one post, per day and the theme must be True Blood-related (this also includes any content in regards to the Southern Vampire Mysteries series).
  • Any post that is deemed unrelated to the acceptable material, will be flagged by the coordinator of the event and the blogger will be contacted and given a 12 hour window to fix the material in order to still qualify for entry into the drawings for the prizes.

How do I join in?

Click on the tab marked register and fill out the required information. All you need is a valid e-mail, a Twitter account and a blog of some kind (Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, Posterous… etc.).

All prizes have been donated and only participants that meet the requirements will qualify to be entered into the drawings for each prize. A participant may only win one prize. *True Blood 30 Night Fang-a-Thon is not affiliated with HBO, the creators of True Blood or Charlaine Harris. The event is designed and ran by @DarlingSookie, @True_Bites and @Pret_News and any and all questions/concerns/comments should be directed to these accounts.
