This year, the main focus of True Blood was vampire business to the point nearly everyone else’s business focused on it too.
There were exceptions, and we’re peeking in on those today.
I thought Terry and Arlene’s story line this year was stupid. Why did Rene even show up at the end of last season? She paid no attention to that Halloween visit and welcomed Patrick with open arms, even when Terry clearly was not glad to see him.
Patrick’s role was pretty much a place holder so Terry and Arlene, perhaps the only happily married couple in Bon Temps, could have their own story line, miss each other and take right up with their lives next season.
We all knew Terry has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but we didn’t know why. Seeing Patrick brought back both those memories and his terrible mental state.
A slaughter in an Iraqi village was no big plot surprise until one victim cursed the soldiers who shot her.
She calls up in Ifrit, an Arabian fire monster, to stalk and kill them..
I’ll give them that. The Ifrit was cool.
Terry’s road trip was a waste of plot time we’ll never get back, and the lone soldier in the Dakotas was only there to be Ifrit food.
Arlene though, had a better season. She knew something was wrong, really wrong with her husband and started asking for help – first Holly, then Lafayette.
Wasn’t they séance was great?
Patrick got a big dose of “Damn it’s real!” and Terry, who had already accepted his death, got a chance to redeem himself when Lafayette channeled the Iraqi woman.
His apology, while it didn’t fix everything right away, got Terry the forgiveness he needed, but with one caveat. He had to kill Patrick.
We all know what happened next. I’m glad Arlene had the gumption to fight for Terry and her children herself, giving Terry the courage to do what needed to be done to Patrick and get his life on track for the first time in a long time.
It’s all sunshine-and-roses between Terry and Arlene now but I’m thinking they won’t be having any more kids right now.
Surprisingly, Andy Bellefleur will be the one on Daddy Duty.
His night with Murella and the ET-like finger touch cost the sheriff dearly, though that birth scene was much needed comic relief. Like everyone else, I think if we orgasmed while giving birth, there would be a lot more people on this planet.
I’m not clear that all four babies are girls. I’d like to think there are two boys in the mix. Whatever, Andy will have his hands full and a whole lot of explaining to his grandmother when he brings those bundles of joy home.
We can only hope those half-fairy babies will grow up at super speed and they’ll be school age in no time. And, even if they are telepathic, I don’t think Sookie is going to start a career as a tutor.
And it can’t have been only me, but I wonder when Chris Bauer started working out, because wasn’t he a buff boy this year? Perhaps it was knowing he had to do a nude scene at last.

Yeah. That happy look didn’t seem to last long. Also: so not a newborn.
Thank you True Blood writers, for giving Andy something he has desperately needed for five seasons now: dignity.
Given the nature of Andy’s abuse issues, it’s not a surprise that he’s been scraping near the bottom of the barrel for the better part of the show’s history. While I’m not convinced that he’s going to stay sober it was really great to see Andy winning the battle for once and actually proving that he can be a half-decent cop. The scenes with Holly were nice and I wouldn’t object to seeing more of that next season though considering the litter of half-fae babies that he just picked up it’s probably not going to happen.
Best: Andy figure’s out Bud’s role in the Obamas and saves the day.
Andy has never been a smart character. He’ll never be a smart character, but this was a nice moment of glory for him when he used those skills that he has picked up and really proved his worth as a cop and that just maybe, he actually deserves that spot as Sheriff.
Worst: Andy waives the ticket for the Judges’ son.
It was tired and cliché. It only existed to move the plot forward by getting Andy and Jason to the faery club. Ultimately I just wish they’d found another way to get them there.

Now I know people are going to wondering why I didn’t put Eric, Sookie and Bill as my favorite scene. Don’t get me wrong, I actually enjoyed seeing the trio together again. But honestly, with the cliffhanger and so many things left unresolved… I just prefer to see how it pans out next season.Though I have been less than enthused about the fairy story lines, I must admit that seeing Maurella and her fairy vajayjay’s light show was a bit amusing. It was actually a stronger scene than I would have ever expected.
Why do I feel it was strong?
Trust me, if it weren’t for Arlene and Lafayette, this scene would have been yet another eye rolling moment. Can I just say, it’s nice to see Arlene and Lafayette being normal again? Their commentary and presence just helped with bringing a bit of comedic relief.
Of course, Holly wasn’t entirely amused by the situation. Then again, can you blame her? Her boyfriend walked up to her with a pregnant fairy in tow and she had to put her feelings aside to help deliver the babies.
And Andy… Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy..
Caroline isn’t going to be happy when Andy returns home with not one daughter, but four!
It was nice to see the writers of True Blood capture the essence of Merlotte’s once again and have a bit of normalcy even with all the supernatural light show, orgasmic fairy births going on.

I’m a fairly new Truebie, started watching True Blood over 6 months ago on HBO2Go thanks to the buzz and my friend lending me her login since I don’t get the channel. Of course, I can’t get enough. I’m hooked and it’s now considered a, “Where have you been all my life?,” tv show.
This past weekend has truly been a True Blood marathon. I spent 9 hours catching up on everything S5!!!! I felt I shouldn’t experience this tv event alone, so I went to my friend’s house to watch. I wore my Fangtasia shirt (duh cause I’m a vamper)
and Glamour Me lipstick.
I also partaked in some Tru-Blood which btw was very tasty. (PS: Adding a bit of alcohol gives it some kick.)
A True Blood season finale would not be a show without a mindfuck and this one was MAJOR! I am a sad panda Truebie because I’ve been so used to seeing what comes next online but now I have to wait a year! 😦
Was very glad to see Russell turned to goo because I honestly I wasn’t sure where the writers were going with that. I can only take so much of him before he has to go! Love the faes! There are so hippie and free. But WTAF is up with that bitch fae who had sex with Andy “twice”?!? First, she has orgasms while giving birth and she leaves Andy with 4 babies! He deserved to be called a dick by Holly but it will be interesting to see this play out next season.
I don’t like Nora and Eric at all. Not because they are “brother” and “sister” getting it on but they have no chemistry! I like it when Eric and Bill pine over Sookie but now that Bill is too far gone, who will protect Sookie?!? I can’t stop dwelling over who the vampire is who owns her?!? Hopefully, he’ll protect her from all of the shit that’s about the hit the fan, even though he killed her parents. Knowing this show, they may add a twist where this guy was protecting Sookie from her parents because they were bad! Jason’s visions/concussion or whatever the fuck he has does not help.
Gotta say I didn’t see Billith being resurrected. There were several times I thought Bill might’ve seen the light (pardon the pun) but that would make it too easy, right? 😉 Hey, at least that means we’ll get to see more nakedness and that doesn’t totally suck.

The finale was definitely epic. I knew they wouldn’t kill Eric off, but I was still thrilled as I am hardcore Team Eric. Russell finally meeting the true death also made me ecstatic, especially since it meant that Eric finally got to carry out his long awaited vengeance. I am slightly confused with the whole Morella having four babies and leaving them with Andy. Are they going to grow up to be like Sookie and Hunter? Jason has absolutely lost his marbles. I don’t know why he can’t just pick a team and stay with it. He keeps going back and forth between wanting to kill all vampires and being an ally to them. I was so excited when Bill “died”, though I was hoping it was for good. He has been a huge lunatic for pretty much the entire season. This Lilith stuff is fairly odd, especially since none of this happened in the books. Speaking of the books, where is Quinn? I was hoping he would be introduced into the series by now. Then again, we haven’t really been following the books much here lately. I think everyone will agree with me that the season left me hanging and as always I can’t wait to get more next season.

Well now Maurella doing the nasty with Andy was……. *gags* Why? I can’t say I approve of her choice in human males and the whole ET thing? Since when do we do that? Next thing ya know Andy will be leaving trails of Reese’s Pieces for her to follow.

I’m starting to be a bit concerned about the potential for Andy to have procreated with that wanton, nympho-fae at the end of last season.
Andy is a fun and entertaining character, but not the best and the brightest of Bon Temps. He pretty much blunders from situation to situation; his best moment occurring when he described the crime scene of Jessica’s headless snack. This scene was overshadowed by the revelation that Sheriff Bud had polyps in his ass.
But what about an Andy Jr. that retained some powers of the fae? And
I’m talking more about the SVM fae and not TB. The TB fae biggest power is to turn ugly as hell. Well, that and keeping Bill Lumbergh preserved.
I mean an Andy Jr. that can perform magic. Or kick a vamps ass. Or be a male stripper. Not a pleasant thought is it?
All that being said, I’m glad Andy got laid. He blew it with Holly and has been on a four season dry spell. He’s due.
It’s Mike Spencer’s turn this season…
